9 Days - Tana - Antsirabe  - Andasibe - Miandrivazo - Tsiribihina River Safari - Bemaraha National Park - Morondava - Tana
This 9 day trip, includes a two and half day camping river safari along the Tsiribihina River as well as visits to Antsirabe, Andasibe, Morondova and the fantastic Bemaraha National Park.
You will arrive at Ivato International Airport and be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

You have the remainder of the day at leisure to recover from your flight and to explore the hustle and bustle of Antananarivo. Â The capital city of Madagascar is the largest city in the country, commonly known as Tana and has a number of different attractions to keep you busy!
Day 1 – Antananarivo
Royal Palissandre
Situated on a hillside in the heart of the ‘City of a Thousand’, Royal Pallisandre is an elegantly decorated hotel with 46 air conditioned rooms.  All have their own electronic safe, direct phone line, television with local and international channels, wifi, minibar, bathroom and hair dryer.
The Royal Palace Hotel is located in a quiet area of the city, it has a beautiful garden and pool and is ideally placed to enable its guests to get out and explore Antisirabe.
Day 2 - Tana – Antsirabe
Day 3 – Antsirabe – Miandrivazo
After breakfast you being your journey southwards to Antsirabe. Â Your journey will take you through some stunning scenery so make sure you have your cameras at the ready.

You will arrive in Antsirabe in the afternoon. Â The third largest city in Madagascar, Antsirabe is famous for its thermal baths.
Â
The city is relatively compact and is easy to explore on foot; the eclectic mix of architectural styles makes wandering around incredibly enjoyable. Â Antsirabe is also known for its rickshaws, and even today, they provide a novel means for exploring the city.

City tours including visits to the handicraft workshops and precious gemstone shops can be arranged, or you may decide to indulge in a massage at your hotel, or relax by the pool.
Today you head in a westerly direction towards Miandivazo, the starting point for river excursions. Â

Your journey will be packed full of great scenery – the mountains make for fantastic photos!  There will also be several stops enroute to visit villages and scenic sights. Â

You will arrive into Miandivazo in the afternoon and have chance for a dip in the pool before settling into your hotel for the evening. Â

Days 4 & 5 – River Safari
After breakfast, you will head to Masiakampy where the barge will be waiting for you. Â You have chance to settle in, before your river safari truly begins.

You will make your way along the Tsiribihina River taking in the wonderful landscapes – gorges and waterfalls abound!  The trip is a must for ornithologists, and drifting along with the accompanying sound of birds in the background is incredibly enchanting.

Accommodation during the river safari is in tents. Â Camp is made at the end of each day in locations that allow you to appreciate your surroundings to the fullest. Â
Day 6 – Belo - Bekopaka
At around lunchtime you will arrive in Belo, the final stop on your river safari. Â You will disembark and after lunch in Belo itself, will continue onwards to the town of Bekopaka.
Olympe De Bemaraha
Accommodation:
Located in the immediate vicinity of the Tsingy du Bemaraha, the hotel is situated on a woody-covered-easily-accessible hill, overlooking the Manambolo River and the village of Bekopaka.

There are 20 comfortable bungalows. Â Each bungalow has its own verandah and ensuite bathroom with a supply of hot water from a solar-powered system.

The swimming pool, situated near the restaurant, provides you with an unforgettable view of the spectacular and splendid landscape.
Day 7 – Bekopaka
Today you visit the Bemaraha National Park, it is the first Malagasy site to be designated as a World Natural Heritage and National Cultural Heritage Site. Â

Bemaraha is a high spot of endemism and diversity. The scientists estimate that the general endemism of this park is 86.7% and the ecoregional one is 47%. 11 species of lemurs are listed here, five families of Bats and 103 species of birds. Â The index of the reptiles and amphibians is just as impressive, with 34 endemic species identified. Â

The Tsingy of Bemaraha is part of the Bemaraha massif and covers an area of around 120 km long and 40 km wide. Â It comprises of karstic landscapes and limestone uplands cut into impressive 'tsingy' peaks and a 'forest' of limestone needles, the spectacular canyon of the Manambolo river, rolling hills and high peaks. The undisturbed forests, lakes and mangrove swamps are the habitat for rare and endangered lemurs and birds.

You will head back to your accommodation after spending time in the park.

Day 8 - Bekopaka – Morondava
Today you make the 200 km journey from Bekopaka to Morondava.  You will stop enroute at the famous ‘baobabs alley’ where you will be able to enjoy sunset.  The Avenue or Alley of the Baobabs is a prominent group of baobab trees, around a dozen nearly 30 metre tall trees, which line the dirt road between Morondava and Belon'i Tsiribihina. Â

The coastal town of Morondava is a quiet laidback place. Â The market and street vendors make for some great souvenir shopping.
Kimony Resort

Situated on the outskirts of the city, Kimony Resort is set amidst a landscape of rice fields and baobabs close to the sea. Â A strip of saline land and mangrove is all that separates the hotel from the sea. Â The white sandy beach stretches for miles and is the perfect place to sit back and relax.

The resort is made up of 30 spacious wooden bungalows, each places well apart amongst the gardens. Â Each has its own private bathroom, solar hot water, a small lounge, air conditioning and satellite TV.

Olympe De Bemaraha (as Day 6)
Day 9 - Morondava – Tana
Today you will head back to Tana. Â Depending on the time of your flight, you will either head straight for the airport, or otherwise, have the use of facilities at Royal Palissandre (as Day 1), before heading to the airport later in the day.
